ABOUT NO PEANUTS PLEASE
Hi, I’m Catarina the founder of No Peanuts Please.
I’m sixteen, heading into Grade 12, and I live with a life-threatening peanut allergy. I’ve been hospitalized three times because of it, each time, a reminder of how quickly a normal day can turn into an emergency.

The idea for No Peanuts Please began at a City-run March Break Camp where I was working as a counsellor. Despite being a peanut-free space, a fellow staff member brought a snack in that contained peanuts and offered it to me. It was a close call, one that could’ve ended very differently. That moment stayed with me. It made me realize just how dangerous a lack of understanding can be, and how much work still needs to be done to make public spaces safer for kids with allergies.

So I decided to do something.

No Peanuts Please is my way of turning fear into advocacy. It’s a youth-led initiative that raises awareness for anaphylaxis through community education, school outreach, fundraising, and local business partnerships. All funds raised go directly to Allergy Awareness Canada.

I care deeply about safety, education, and inclusion. I teach swimming, lead City camps, and serve as a Director at a local Summer Camp. I also sit on the Board of Directors at my high school and have earned over 600 volunteer hours, more than any other student in my grade!

This campaign isn’t about me. It’s about every child who’s ever felt afraid to speak up about their allergy. It’s about building a world where care, safety, and awareness are part of everyday life.

Thank you for being part of it.
Catarina
